"We needed more seating on the deck and this bench fits the bill. It is solid, easy to put together (they included necessary tool) and looks great! The finish is just the right color but would not withstand our winter, so we'll store it. I think I will seal it before I put it out for the season next year to make it weather proof. "I was worried about buying this bench based on the reviews, but after we got 2 and put them together, I love them. There are no splinters as mentioned in some other reviews, and while there were a couple of very small spots where there was not stain, it was easily covered with a furniture stick/marker - that is typically expected with most furniture that you have to put together yourself. They are comfortable without the cushion (which we didn't get), and are lightweight enough that they a fairly easily moved if needed. There was also not excessive oil on them, so we were not worried about sitting on them and getting our clothes stained. For the price, I could not have expected more and actually expected a cheaper quality product based on the reviews and the price. We will be putting hardwood oil or something to protect it during the winter, which is recommended for any wooden outdoor product, so they are not maintainence free like plastic or resin, but no more maintainence than a really expensive wooden bench either. "I love this oversized bench. It goes great with the matching Strathwood table. Good quality wood. I didn't love the matching bench cushion that goes with it which I bought separately.
